Brian you were so luckie to have Barney come into your life. He was your buddy up till the end and he let you know it. I know that he wanted you to be with him at the end and you were there as he wanted. Your were at your best in his time of need. He is at peace now and up playing with the other dogs. I will miss his little speak when he wanted something. Take care now. your dad
Ahhhhh geeze... I am so sorry that you guys lost your good friend, Barney. Heck, Barney was a nice enough guy that I thought of him as a friend too, and I hardly knew him. As sad as this news is, I take some comfort in knowing that the life you guys gave him was ten thousand times better than any life he could have lived, anywhere else. He was as happy as a dog can possibly get. He certainly led a full and comfortable life. Poor pug. He is not going to know what to do with himself, so you guys have to suck it up and give him a lot of support.
Just talked to you dad and heard about barney. Both joanne and I express our sympathy to you and your family for your loss. We both know very well how much animals can influence and affect daily life and how attached we can become to these little guys ( and big guys too, in the case of horses). They love you despite our bad days, bad races, and bad moods, and just want to get a little pat on the head and a good meal. ( in the case of beagles, as many good meals as they can get ). All there looking for is a little affection and a warm place to curl up on the end of the bed. Kind of sounds like being married.....but I had better leave that alone. Barney was lucky to have a loving, caring friend who made his life here comfortable and safe. Hope to see you at the ellensburg race in april. I'll be out of town for the first race in finley, but good luck with the new boat and the new season...........mike
Thank you all for your kind thoughts. Not many of you know that barney was a gift from my ex girlfriend ( may she rot in ****) debbie. He was the best thing i got from that relationship by far. I have lost many a pet in my life . But losing barney was like losing a parent or a brother and sister. He can never be replaced by any other pet.
Hey Brian! I haven't looked at your blog for some time, and I feel like I should, since you watch ours so religiously. Anyway, Dawn and I both are so sorry to have heard of Barney's passing. But he's being well cared for in his new place. I'm sure he's playing with the german shepard I had as a kid, who was killed by a car, Toby...and the two are having loads of fun.
